Treanna & Jeff {Memorial Day vow renewal}

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to witness two people re-commit their lives to each other in front of their closest friends and family.... on the top of a mountain. How amazing is my job?? After 7 years of marriage, Treanna and Jeff vowed loved, faithfulness and commitment to each other and to their two beautiful kiddos. What a blessing. Truly, it was an incredible morning in Estes Park and I'm so thankful I got to be a part of it!

Le Petit Prince turns 1! {personal}

Today my baby turns 1! Malachi is full of energy, silliness and joy. Some of his favorite things include- opening cabinets, cupboards, doors...pretty much anything that opens and closes,  giving mama kisses, clapping when we say "yay, Malachi", books with flip-the-flaps,  and climbing stairs (time for some baby gates!). Andrew and I spent a good hour last night lying in bed looking at pictures and video from this past year and just marveling at how fast it's gone by and how it's even possible that we could be parents...seriously...when did that happen?

As we celebrate this first year of Malachi's life, I pray that God would take hold of my son's heart even now and grow him into a child that follows after Him. I pray that he would have ears to hear the beauty of the gospel and a heart that would believe in the One who created him someday too. Happy Birthday, Boo Boo. Mama loves you.

Ramsey & Mhairi {Virginia Wedding}

Ramsey and Mhairi were set up. Blind date. At a BBQ. By her mom. Seriously! Neither anticipated ever hitting it off, let alone...falling in love and getting married. But they did. And it was the most perfect day.

No threat of rain could dampen their spirits and thankfully, the rain held off and the sun came out and I'm sure the whole day felt like a dream to them. I loved seeing them both before they saw each other....same wide smile on both of their faces (which pretty much stayed there the rest of the day!)

Their beautiful Virginia ceremony took place outdoors on the lawn at Stevenson Ridge. The property as a whole was like something out of a Southern Fairytale, with many of the historic buildings tucked back into the forest like something time forgot.

The air smelled of rain from the previous day mixed with the bursting aromas of the bride and bridesmaid's bouquets. I credit it towards the peonies, several types of garden roses, ranunculus, freesia and sweet pea that populated their bouquets. So lovely!

With 9 attendants each, there can be no denying these two are truly loved. Friends, roommates, siblings, co-workers, and in-laws made up their eclectic bridal party and from what I could tell- they traveled from all over the country! Just to stand beside Ramsey and Mhairi as they committed their lives to one another. What a blessing!

Their sweet and simple ceremony and garden party styled reception were beautiful, but what I think impressed me most was how perfectly they fit together. I've known Ramey for over a decade. He's been like a brother to me and I treasure our friendship and the instrumental role he's played in my life. I never imagined he would find a woman so truly his perfect match. Mhairi is both beautiful and intelligent. Graceful and adventurous. I'm so incredibly happy for both of them as they start their new life together and pray that God will truly bless their marriage.

I loved this poem on their wedding perfect.

"We are all a little wierd. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness- and call it love- true love."

Best Wishes, Ramsey and Mhairi! Thank you for asking me to be a part of your incredibly special day. It was truly an honor :)

Lindsay & Justin {Engagement Session}

Every now and then I meet some clients and think...yup....I could be friends with these people. After shooting Lindsay's family's portrait in December and loving her whole sweet family, I was so excited to get the call about her engagement to Justin.  It was impossible not to be smiling behind my camera lens during Lindsay and Justin's engagement session....since they couldn't stop smiling (and giggling) themselves! I love the way they are together. So comfortable. So relaxed. I barely had to give them any direction on how to be together....they were just perfect. Plus...they wore cool shoes! (Which...I now have a good excuse to get some!) I'm so excited to be shooting their sweet and intimate "backyard wedding" in October!

ps- Aren't the shots at Fort Collin's New Belgium Brewery so fun?? It was my first time shooting there and it made for such a perfect backdrop :)

Mitchell Family ||family portrait||

Springtime in Colorado means warmer weather and family fun in the backyard! I absolutely adore this family and had so much fun spending a little time with them at their home in Fort Collins. Plus, their adorable little guy, Eli, is one of my kid's buddies...and how cute is he??? Here's a few pictures from a beautiful day of some beautiful people to warm up your rainy day :)

Anderson Family at Home {Lifestyle Maternity/Family Portrait}

Today, I am in such a good mood. It's been raining ever since I woke up this morning (and if you know know I LOVE rain)- which made for a perfect day for an in home shoot with this awesome family and my sweet friends.

And what better way to spend a rainy morning than drinking coffee, making homemade donuts, and having a little family time. As a boy-mom myself, I love watching Christine interact with her boys....totally surrounded by chaos, constant bumps and falls (including a broken teacup during our shoot) and mess...hence the chocolatey noses :) Her "chill" attitude is inspiring to me...reacting with love in it all. She and her husband, Tim, have done such an amazing job making their house a home and will be welcoming baby boy #3 in the next few weeks!  Lots of love to all 5 of you, friends..

Jonah {kid portrait}

 I learned more about zombies, robots, and what it takes to be a Cub Scout during this photoshoot than I have in my whole life, and I don't know if I've ever laughed as much during a portrait session either :) This cool 10 year old kid is full of energy, comedy...and love for his mama! Thanks for sharing a fun morning with us, Jonah!

The start of something new... {personal project}

Recently, a dear friend encouraged me to get back into doing personal photo projects (aka...ones I don't get paid for!) It's so important as an artist to keep creating, especially just for yourself. These are very different than what I do "for a job" but I absolutely loved working on them! Hope to do more soon :)

Opal {newborn session}

Sweet little Opal Anastasia decided to make her grand entrance into the world feet first! As a breech baby that wouldn't turn, everyone left for the hospital preparing for a c-section- but upon arrival Mama was already in transition and soon ready to push. Mama was rushed into the OR for the c-section but Opal didn't want to wait any longer to meet her family :) Now one week old, she is home and surrounded by so much love from her parents and big brother, Levi. I absolutely adored this precious newborn session yesterday! It was the perfect way to start off a snowy March :)

P.S.- If you want to read more about Opal's birth story, check out who captured it all!

Katie & Austin {Colorado Springs Wedding}

January 24, 2015

He's a tech nerd. She's a pediatric nurse. They fell in love and this is the story of their wedding day.

Katie and Austin's wedding was filled with love, laughter, and several inches of snow on the ground! (It is January in Colorado after all...) Despite the snow and chilly temps, these two were such troopers for all of their outdoor bridal party pictures and were so laid back the whole day. (Not to mention super photogenic! Made my job easy :) Both the ceremony and reception were held at the Pavillon at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, which was a perfect venue for their intimate winter wedding. I absolutely loved watching the way Katie and Austin interacted and how much Austin made Katie sweet! May God bless your marriage Mr. & Mrs. Gardner! Thanks for letting me a part of your special day..

Wineman Family 2015

What's better than doing a photoshoot in Hawaii? Doing a photoshoot in Hawaii with this lovely family! Isn't their little girl the cutest?? I worked with Emily for a short time while my husband and I were living on the Big Island and they were sweet enough to take  some pictures of our family this past visit as well! (They turned out awesome by the way...I can't wait to share some soon!) If you are on Big Island and looking for an sweet couple to take your pictures check out White Dot Photography!

I am back in the office after a wonderful trip to Hawaii with my family (great way to kick off the new year right??) and so excited for what 2015 has in store! I am so blessed to already have several weddings, portraits, and commercial jobs on the books for this year and look forward to some new endeavors with the famous Dave Black (, as well as travel and adventure. my job!

Happy New Year, friends!

Aloha 2014...

On December 31st, I usually post some of my favorite images from the year. I have been so blessed to work as much as I have this past year and I thank God for all the jobs he has provided for me, allowing me to help provide for my family. I want to leave you all with just one image this year...while not necessarily my "best" image of the year....I do consider this little guy my greatest accomplishment of 2014. (Happy belated 7 months, my sweet Malachi). I hope the start of 2015 finds you all well. I will be out of the office January 2-14th spending some sweet time with my family on the beautiful island of Hawaii. So for now, I'll say Aloha 2014 and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Chavez Family 2014

On one of the last few warm days of 2014 (before the winter storm and white Christmas), we set out into the mountains (well...Horsetooth Reservoir's foothils..) with the Chavez family for their first ever professional family portrait! Their sweet little baby girl Aviella (or Avi for short..isn't that cute??) definitely stole the show. I always love seeing the look on new parent's faces as they behold their sweet child. Pure joy.

Ramsey & Mhairi {Engagement Lightpainting}

Love. Christmas. Lightpainting.

Thank you for being willing to let me wrap you up in electrical cords and lights to make this festive lightpainting Ramsey and Mhairi. I am so excited to come to Virginia to photograph your wedding in May 2015! You guys are absolutely wonderful together. You compliment each other so well and I just think you are a perfect fit :)

Newton/Fall Family 2014

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! Sorry I have not been blogging lately....most of my recent sessions were meant to be Christmas presents for loved ones and so I was asked not to post any pictures until after Christmas :) For the first time in a while we had a totally WHITE CHRISTMAS here in Fort Collins and it was magical. The day after Christmas I was lucky enough to have a portrait session booked with this lovely family at their charming little farm that was nothing but picturesque. It was absolutely perfect. The blankets of snow that covered the ground...the light little flakes that were falling during our shoot...the joy that this family exuded (especially centered around their youngest little blue-eyed punkin'- Brycen). I have now decided that snowy winter shoots are my new favorite :D

2014 Fall Mini Sessions

I absolutely LOVE everything about fall! The crisp air, the leaves changing, baking yummy treats, snuggling up on chilly nights, wearing scarves, and drinking pumpkin spice chai...yum! I also love my Fall Mini Sessions! This year we had the most beautiful weather, fun "cozy rustic" scene and the nicest families that made my job so easy :) Here's a little teaser of a few of my favorites...enjoy!

Nicki&Branden {wedding}

What a gorgeous day! Nicki and Branden could not have picked a more beautiful October day for their lovely fall wedding at Blackstone Country Club in Aurora, CO. It was so wonderful to see this sweet family commit to one another in front of their closest friends and family and to witness- not only the love they have for each other-but for their son as well. Nicki and Branden- it was my absolute honor to capture your wedding day and I wish your precious family all the best  :)
