Ramsey & Mhairi {Virginia Wedding}

Ramsey and Mhairi were set up. Blind date. At a BBQ. By her mom. Seriously! Neither anticipated ever hitting it off, let alone...falling in love and getting married. But they did. And it was the most perfect day.

No threat of rain could dampen their spirits and thankfully, the rain held off and the sun came out and I'm sure the whole day felt like a dream to them. I loved seeing them both before they saw each other....same wide smile on both of their faces (which pretty much stayed there the rest of the day!)

Their beautiful Virginia ceremony took place outdoors on the lawn at Stevenson Ridge. The property as a whole was like something out of a Southern Fairytale, with many of the historic buildings tucked back into the forest like something time forgot.

The air smelled of rain from the previous day mixed with the bursting aromas of the bride and bridesmaid's bouquets. I credit it towards the peonies, several types of garden roses, ranunculus, freesia and sweet pea that populated their bouquets. So lovely!

With 9 attendants each, there can be no denying these two are truly loved. Friends, roommates, siblings, co-workers, and in-laws made up their eclectic bridal party and from what I could tell- they traveled from all over the country! Just to stand beside Ramsey and Mhairi as they committed their lives to one another. What a blessing!

Their sweet and simple ceremony and garden party styled reception were beautiful, but what I think impressed me most was how perfectly they fit together. I've known Ramey for over a decade. He's been like a brother to me and I treasure our friendship and the instrumental role he's played in my life. I never imagined he would find a woman so truly his perfect match. Mhairi is both beautiful and intelligent. Graceful and adventurous. I'm so incredibly happy for both of them as they start their new life together and pray that God will truly bless their marriage.

I loved this poem on their wedding program...so perfect.

"We are all a little wierd. And life is a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness- and call it love- true love."

Best Wishes, Ramsey and Mhairi! Thank you for asking me to be a part of your incredibly special day. It was truly an honor :)
